Wix alternatives
Wix scores 8.6/10 on our rubric, but it is not the right fit for everyone. These are the 8 strongest alternatives we score, ranked, with what each one does better and what it costs.
Why people look beyond Wix
- Cannot change template after publishing
- Sites are locked to Wix hosting
Who it isn't for
Anyone who expects to migrate later, or who needs a design system applied consistently across many pages. The freeform editor works against consistency at scale, and there is no export path.
The best Wix alternatives
1. B12 8.7
The fastest route from a description to a working website: an AI builder that drafts a complete site, store or simple web app from one prompt, then lets you edit it by chatting or clicking.
Better than Wix on ease of use, flexibility, value and support.
2. Squarespace 8.4
Pick it when the site must look considered and you do not want to make design decisions.
Better than Wix on design.
3. Webflow 8.3
The right answer when you know what you want it to look like and refuse to compromise.
Better than Wix on design and flexibility.
4. Framer 8.2
The modern choice for a marketing site that has to feel alive.
Better than Wix on design and flexibility.
5. Carrd 8.1
Unbeatable for a single page. Choose something else the moment you need a second one.
Better than Wix on ease of use and value.
6. WordPress 7.9
The most capable and least convenient option. Right when you want to own everything and have the time to run it.
Better than Wix on flexibility and value.
7. Hostinger 7.5
The value pick. Watch the renewal price before committing.
Better than Wix on value.
8. Weebly 7.3
A cheap, simple way to get online, now effectively a front end for Square. Fine for a basic site, dated for anything more.
Scores below Wix on every criterion we rate, so choose it for the reasons above rather than on points.
