Shopify in Pakistan: how to set up, get paid and what it costs

Shopify works in Pakistan and has a localised site for the country at shopify.com/pk. The gaps are all on the money side: Shopify Payments, Shop Pay and PayPal are unavailable to Pakistan-based merchants. This guide covers what you use instead, what the plans cost in US dollars, and how COD and couriers fit in.

The short answer

Yes, you can use Shopify in Pakistan. You pay for it in US dollars: Basic is $25 a month, or $19 a month billed yearly, which is lower than the $39 Shopify charges on its US page.

What you can't use is Shopify Payments, Shop Pay or PayPal. Card payments go through a local gateway such as Safepay or PayFast, and the Pakistani side of the Shopify App Store is built around cash on delivery, with apps for booking PostEx, TCS and Leopards shipments and confirming COD orders.

Shopify pricing in Pakistan

Shopify bills Pakistani stores in US dollars. There is no rupee billing. Basic and Grow get regional prices below the US rates, while Advanced and Plus cost the same as in the US.

PlanBilled monthlyBilled yearly (per month)Currency
Basic$25$19USD
Grow$65$49USD
Advanced$399$299USD
PlusFrom $2,300Not listedUSD

The current trial is 3 days free, then US$1 a month for 3 months. POS Pro is an extra US$89 a month. The final price at checkout can differ by billing country.

Shopify's US pricing page lists third-party transaction fees of 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow, 0.6% on Advanced and 0.2% on Plus for stores that don't use Shopify Payments. The Pakistan pricing page doesn't print that row, so confirm the rate with Shopify before you budget. COD and other manual payments carry no third-party transaction fee.

Payment gateways that work with Shopify in Pakistan

Because Shopify Payments isn't offered in Pakistan, online payments need a third-party gateway. Two local gateways state Shopify support. JazzCash and Easypaisa don't publish an official Shopify or WooCommerce plugin.

PayPal is not an option. Pakistan isn't on PayPal's list of supported countries, so a Pakistan-based merchant can't set up PayPal Express. Squarespace doesn't connect to any of these gateways either.

How you receive payment from Shopify in Pakistan

Shopify doesn't pay you directly. Payouts from Shopify itself come through Shopify Payments, which isn't available here, so the money reaches you through whoever collected it.

  • Card and online payments: the gateway (Safepay or PayFast) settles rupees to your Pakistani bank account.
  • Cash on delivery: the courier collects the cash and remits it to you. PostEx advertises 'upfront payments', an advance against COD orders before the cash is collected.

Gateways and couriers don't publish standard settlement cycles we could verify, so ask each provider for its payout schedule before you sign. One more limit: Shopify's automatic local-currency pricing and local payment methods are marked as requiring Shopify Payments.

Cash on delivery and order confirmation

You switch on COD in Shopify under Settings > Payments > Manual payment methods. COD orders stay marked as unpaid until you mark them paid, so you need to reconcile courier remittances by hand or through the courier's app.

Pakistan has its own set of COD confirmation apps that call or message the buyer before you ship, so you can cancel orders nobody confirms.

  • Robo Calls - Pakistan (Devsol): automated order-confirmation calls.
  • MC WhatsApp Order Notification (Moose Commerce): sends a WhatsApp confirmation link for COD orders.
  • OrderPilot: WhatsApp COD verification, launched May 2026.

Couriers with Shopify apps

The major Pakistani couriers all have Shopify apps for booking and labels, but most are built by third-party developers. Only PostEx's listing is published by the courier itself.

For M&P, the BookEase app lists support. Trax has no standalone official app we could verify, so use an aggregator.

Taxes on Shopify in Pakistan

Shopify has no billing-tax help page for Pakistan, so it isn't published whether tax is added to your Shopify bill. The 5% Digital Presence Proceeds Tax in the Finance Act 2025 was reported withdrawn for non-resident providers, retroactive to 1 July 2025.

On your own sales, sales tax on services is set by the provinces (Punjab's PRA, Sindh's SRB), and federal sales tax on goods is 18%. Check your exact rates with FBR or your provincial revenue authority.

Alternatives and verdict

Daraz is the main general marketplace in Pakistan and the one Shopify sellers compare against. We found no Pakistan-built store builder with public pricing we could verify.

WooCommerce (7.6 in our reviews) is the realistic alternative, because Safepay has an official plugin and PayFast supports it. Wix (8.6) scores higher overall but none of the Pakistani gateways above list Wix support, which rules it out for card payments.

Shopify (9.0) is the right choice if you sell domestically on COD, want courier booking and order confirmation handled by apps, and can pay a US-dollar bill. It isn't the right choice if you need PayPal for overseas buyers, or if most of your sales will come from Daraz anyway.
