WordPress alternatives
WordPress scores 7.9/10 on our rubric, but it is not the right fit for everyone. These are the 8 strongest alternatives we score, ranked, with what each one does better and what it costs.
Why people look beyond WordPress
- You are responsible for hosting, updates and security
- The gap between a working site and a good one is large
Who it isn't for
Someone who wants to be online this afternoon and never think about the site again. Every hosted builder here beats it on time-to-live and on not having to care about updates.
The best WordPress alternatives
1. B12 8.7

Better than WordPress on ease of use, design, and support.
2. Wix 8.6
The safest default if you want the most options and the least friction. You trade portability for speed.

3. Squarespace 8.4
Pick it when the site must look considered and you do not want to make design decisions.
Better than WordPress on ease of use, design, and support.

5. Framer 8.2

The value pick. Watch the renewal price before committing.
Better than WordPress on ease of use and support.
8. Weebly 7.3
